Art for Health and Unity Competition Launched in CU Area to Promote COVID-19 Prevention

Unity in Action Magazine in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, and Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center is hosting the Art for Health and Unity Competition, a Champaign County community-wide art competition to promote COVID-19 prevention.

"With summer approaching, we hope to raise awareness throughout the community that we are all still in a fight together against COVID-19. As we are reminded by the CDC, it is too soon to let our guards down too far." Parker, Publisher of Unity in Action Magazine.

There will be a youth and adult category. Participants of all ages will have the chance to win gift card prizes and have their art displayed throughout the community on public health marketing campaigns. Art submissions should feature COVID-19 prevention with the message “Protect & Respect” in any language. Priority will be given to art that highlights diversity and unity. The deadline for submissions is May 22 and art must be submitted in the form of digital art. .

The top three winners in each category will receive a gift card prize and their artwork will be featured in public health campaigns and in Unity in Action Magazine! First prize: $300 gift card; Second prize: $175 gift card; Third prize: $100 gift card The 2021 Art for Health & Unity Competition was created by Unity in Action Magazine and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is sponsored in partnership with the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District,
